| Peter Colstee, born in 1960 in Winterswijk, a small city in the east of the Netherlands. Colstee studied at the Art Academy in Kampen, and is a painter of young male nudes with frequent exhibitions in the Netherlands; much of his work has been acquired for collections or purchased by individuals.
Peter says 'The figures in my paintings always show a certain vulnerability. Their nakedness emphasizes that even more. Boys together with other boys or boys alone, they remain individuals who, with all their insecurities and loneliness, have to take on the world. In addition to his toughness and boisterousness, the young adolescent shows his vulnerability and his growing sexual and erotic awareness. These are beautiful things to record. They only can be found in youngsters.' |
